The elevator was another proposal for an elevator in a public concourse. The floor of the elevator is a diffuse glass panel beneath which is a circular array of LED lights. As the elevator travels, a ‘magnetic’ pattern appears based upon the location of the various passengers. When the elevator stops the magnetic pattern stops animating and only shifts as people walk in and out of the elevator.

The elevator is a place where strangers gather together in close proximity. The magnetic resonance in the floor reflects the social tensions that exist amongst the people themselves.
